Both founders were experienced in delivering solutions to multinational companies across geographic and cultural boundaries.
With complimentary skills and a clear belief in the fundamentals of how the vision could become reality, they set out to create the company they always wanted to work for. The initial objective was to develop a compelling business proposition to attract world-class companies whose business is managing physical equipment.
The inspiration, from a chance remark, was for a system that made physical objects ‘intelligent’ and eliminated the error, time and costs inherent in paper-based, manual systems. Inspiration was followed by perspiration to turn the vision into reality, which was to give operations staff any information on any item of equipment, in real-time and with no paper.
The result was PHALANX, the App Store for Operations, that connects the physical world of objects to the virtual world of computers, immediately and completely error free.
PHALANX uses a combination of barcodes, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, smart phones and industrial handhelds to drive costs out of operations by removing the problems caused by data errors and inflexible business processes. Major companies in oil and gas, equipment management and utilities, now use Phalanx to manage their operations world-wide.
